Die Kleidung

In a simple German sentence, the verb is the second chunk of the sentence! As you learn more, you’ll see other sentence parts moving around, but the verb will stay put.

[Das Mädchen] [trägt] [einen Hut]. The girl wears a hat.

[Frauen und Männer] [haben] [Schmuck]. Women and men have jewelry.

Remember that die Hose is a singular item in German. So you say Die Hose ist groß, not sind!

der, -(e)s, -e/-

Die Tasche. the bag

Der Schmuck. the jewelry

Ich trage ein Kleid und du trägst einen Rock(oe, -e).

I wear a dress and you wear a skirt.

Hast du den mantel?

Do you have the coat?

Die Jacke ist aus Europa.

The jacket is from Europe.

Sie haben Hemden(das; -(e)s,-en).

They have shirts.

Hat der Rock einen Fleck?

m,-(e)s, Röcke

Does the skirt have a stain?

Der Knopf ist rund.

der; -(e)s, Knöpfe

The button is round.

Die Schuhe passen nicht.

The shoes do not fit.

Die Kosmetik ist perfekt!

The cosmetics are perfect!
