Grandson, son of Grand
As you might know if you ever read any Russian literature, Russians have three names; their first name and their surnameβjust like you haveβand a patronymic (ΠΎΡΡΠ΅ΡΡΠ²ΠΎ), which is based on their father's name (ΠΎΡΠ΅Ρ = father). A very common 'polite' pattern is to use a person's first name and a patronymic:
ΠΠ²Π°ΜΠ½ ΠΠ²Π°Π½ΠΎΠ²ΠΈΡ, Π²Ρ Π·Π°ΜΠ½ΡΡΡ? = Ivan Ivanovich, are you busy?
In this course, name+patronymic are always used with the polite Π²Ρ-form.
